Summary:
The Engineer will report to the Manager of Engineering as a part of the Technical Operations team and will provide engineering support to the Division Liquid Pipeline Operations. Primary focus includes working closely with Operations to provide day-to-day engineering and technical support, coordination with other company departments, and full project lifecycle execution.

Essential Functions:

* Provides day-to-day engineering and technical support to liquid pipeline operations.
* Performs hydraulic calculations and simulations. Helps with MOP determination and Surge Studies. Helps with Power and DRA budgeting and management. Updates P&ID's.
* Provide operating, alarming, and shutdown set points for liquid pipeline operations.
* Participate in MOC process for engineering review and sign-off.
* Executes full project lifecycle for operations Maintenance Capital and Expense Projects.
* Reviews potential exposures and relocations.
* Supports investigations by providing technical expertise for: Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOC's), Mechanical/Electrical/Control (MEC) failures, Environmental/Health/Safety (EHS) incidents.
* Support liquid pipeline operations during DOT Inspections.
* Coordinates with Ops/Optimization Engineering Team
* Coordinates with Systems Planning Team.
* Coordinates with Scheduling and Commercial Teams.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

* 3-6 years of direct experience

* Title conferred will be based on candidates' years of relevant experience.
* Must be familiar with all applicable codes and regulations including USDOT CFR 192 and 195, API, ASME, ASNT, OSHA, and NACE.
* Utilize, understand, and adhere to contracts and agreements within scopes of work.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); good computer skills; the ability to interact well with property owners, municipal, state and federal agencies at all levels.
* Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
* Must be a team player and willing to assist outside of own discipline.
* Ability to acquire new job knowledge and skills to perform as well as support the Manager - Engineering in his/her absence.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Liquid Pipeline Operations or Operations Engineering Experience
* Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (State of Texas)
* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

* This position is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.
* This position is required to carry a cell phone and is subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency response, extended work hours and/or work weeks.
* Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
* Ability to travel is required and may be extensive, at times (25%+).
* Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting.
* Candidate must have proven safe driving record and valid driver's license.
