Function: Act as a liaison between the customer, manufacturers' representatives and/or outside sales personnel and the company on matters regarding product applications, selection and sales. Examine and analyze customers' needs, determine pricing and design criteria, make recommendations, and prepare quotation(s) pertinent to the proposed installation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, efficient and timely preparation of proposals, in conjunction with Outside Sales Personnel, Engineering, Production Control, and Manufacturing (as necessary), and document in accordance with current policies and procedures (including export compliance).
  • Responsible for sales processes such as quote creation, database maintenance and development, customer service tasks, maintenance of price sheets and application survey forms, review and markup of manuals.
  • Communicate with customer to follow up on quotations and work with them through the sales process. Coordinate with Outside Sales Personnel to ensure customer needs are understood and being met or exceeded.
  • Prepare complete and accurate order transmittal packages in accordance with current procedures for transfer of order information to Engineering and/or Production. Participate in order management as necessary.
  • Develop and implement sales training materials and programs. Help organize and take part in company sponsored sales meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance to lower level engineers and technicians.
  • Occasional travel (<10% overnight) to make customer sales calls and attend trade shows.
  • Work under minimal supervision and draw solutions from a wide range of experience.

Position Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Engineering degree preferred; applicable experience may substitute
  • 3 years+ sales or applications engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with engineered to order products.
  • Experience in several of these industries is preferred - Power Generation, Food & Beverage, Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining, and Oil & Gas. We sell to both domestic and international markets.
  • Experience with direct sales channels and selling through Manufacturer's Representatives.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&ID, and other technical drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sales and contract negotiation knowledge.
  • Flexibility and willingness to respond to customers (internal/external) expediently; problem solver.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to establish priorities, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • CRM experience preferred.
