Position Description

Field Service Engineer – Power Systems


This is an immediate need!

Our customer, a nationally respected manufacturer of distributed power systems (including generation, conditioning, quality and back up) has an immediate need and is looking to add an experienced, Regional Field Service Engineer to its staff.   This is a contract-to-hire position will be based in the Dallas - Fort Worth area. 

The successful candidate will be based in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.  Along with providing regional service you will be required to support the company's domestic and international customers as needed.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
> Installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing (to the component level) medium voltage, inverter based products.

> Installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing (to the component level) 3 phase industrial power systems and medium voltage
    power quality and conditioning systems.

> Experience installing, repairing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems as well as communication protocols
   such as Ethernet, Modbus or Device Net.

> The willingness and ability to work overtime.

> Able to travel up to 80% of the time (as needed).

> Able to work independently and in a team setting

> Possess excellent communication skills as this position requires frequent customer interaction

> Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain rental cars if needed.


Key Skills / Attributes / Prerequisites:
> Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) or an Associate’s Degree in Electronics and/or Military or equivalent
   experience with a minimum 7 years industry experience.

> Demonstrated experience installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing (to component level) a wide range of (low to Medium
   range) inverter-based, 3 phase power products and related equipment as described above.

> Strong understanding / experience working with power system controls, quality circuits and related sub-systems

> Experience working with high speed industrial communications systems and associated software.

> Ability to travel a minimum of 80% of the time. Travel to include regional, domestic and International and can include weekends and
   holidays

> Demonstrated experience using automated and manual testing equipment such as O-scopes, Voltmeters, hipot, and other related
   electronic test equipment.
