Position Description

This manager is responsible for high-level technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Provides team technical supervision and drives project/service delivery. He or she will also perform as technical lead on software development projects with responsibility for overall delivery of software components; document design decisions, adhere to existing process guidelines, adhere to audit guidelines, oversees development of software components, mentor junior developers, support QA during testing, and conduct oversight during implementation into production.

Responsibilities

Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions. Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary
Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including coding, testing, debugging and installing a large-scale system. Maintains records to document program development and revisions.
Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems.

Basic Qualifications:

3 years experience in ETL software design and development

2 years experience with Linux/Unix environments

2 years experience with Korn shell scripting

2 years experience as a Technical Team Lead

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or some other technical area

5 Years experience in application development, design, architecture and support of applications and environment

5 Years experience using ETL tools such as Ab Initio or Informatica

2 Years experience in People management

1 Year experience in Senior Developer on IT Projects

3 - 5 Years experience with one or all of the following database technologies - Teradata, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server

Experience in Linux/Unix environment leading development efforts

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Experience with Lean techniques and Agile project methodology

Experience in leading third party, consulting, or off-shore development
