Licensed Psychological Associate

LICENSED PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE

The Psychological Associate will perform the following duties in accordance with 45 CFR 1308:

(a) utilizes various assessment instruments and techniques to assist in the identification of Head Start children who meet eligibility criteria for special services;
(b) conducts psychological evaluation on children referred for developmental/educational challenges, including severe emotional/behavioral disorders;
(c) attends IEP meetings to discuss assessment results and recommend/develop appropriate educational goals/objectives for eligible children;
(d) provides consultation to staff and parents regarding educational needs of children.
 

Qualifications: 

• MA/MS in Psychology from an accredited university and Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) or Licensed Specialist in School Psychologist (LSSP) credentials issued by the Texas Board of License.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in administering/interpreting variety of psycho-educational assessment instruments; and
• at least three years of experience working with preschool children with various disabilities, including emotional and behavioral disorders in a classroom setting and counseling.
